Connecting South Lake is a community resident's group formed to connect residents and friends of South Lake to bring the community together to build a safer, healthier and happier suburb and promote a healthier and sustainable environment.  We are committed to the advancement of South Lake, meeting regularly to discuss issues affecting our suburb and residents. 

Connecting South Lake

Connecting South Lake Inc is South Lake’s local Community Residents group. Connecting South Lake has been run by dedicated volunteers since 2010 to promote the suburb of South Lake and bound by Connecting South Lake Inc Rules of Association.
 
We aim to provide represenation for the residents of South Lake and keep them informed of local issues and interests.  Our Facebook page provides information on current events and local projects.  We also have a Connecting South Lake Chat page on Facebook to allow members to connect and exchange opinions and ideas with the rest of the group.
 
We try to foster a bright and positive outlook for a great suburb.

Location

South Lake is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Cockburn. It is bounded by the freight rail line to the north, the Kwinana Freeway to the east, Berrigan Drive, Semple Court and North lake Road to the south and North Lake Road to the west. The land was developed in 1981 as a push to open up affordable housing, with major growth from 1982-1998.
 
Major features of the area are Lucken Reserve, Bolderwood Reserve, Wineberry Park, Hopbush Park, Blackburn Park, Sycamore Park, Anning Park, with Jandakot Hall, one public primary school, and one secondary, award-winning Lakelands Senior High School, Three day-care facilities, Ottey Community Centre and two shopping precincts. South Lake is less than 5 mins to the train and bus station, and Gateways Shopping Centre, 25 minutes to Perth CBD and 7km from the beach.

Our Committee

Connecting South Lake committee wants to increase community participation in events to bring the community together to build a safer, healthier and happier suburb to promote healthier environment and sustainability. Connecting South Lake will utilise and build relationships with businesses, Cockburn City Council, Government Agencies and other community groups for the area for the greater benefit of the residents.
 
Connecting South Lake aims to celebrate individual and group citizen’s achievements when working towards making our community excel.

Connecting South Lake is committed to the advancement of South Lake, encouraging community participation and working with the council and other organisations to benefit the suburb for the people of South Lake.  Encouraging the community to be more engaged and foster participation, bringing together the community of South Lake and neighbouring areas.
