Hammond Park is a suburb created in 2002 within the locality of Cockburn council in Perth metropolitan area, Western Australia.It is located about 22km away from Perth CBD. According to census 2021, Hammond Park has a population of 6,985 (up from 4,886 residents in the 2006 Census). The median age of residents in the suburb is 31 years old and has nearly 2,000 families, making it a vibrant and exciting suburb to live in.
Hammond Park has two primary schools, a secondary school, four early learning centers, supermarket, two cafes, pub restaurant, medical center and pharmacy. Aubin Grove train station serves residents of Hammond Park through the Russel road-Kiwnana Freeway overpass. The suburb has many beautiful parks with play grounds with ample space such as Dungen and Botany Park. Botany Park is an AFL oval and athletics facilities with adjacent change rooms and toilets. It also offers seating, shaded playground equipment and BBQ facilities making it a great space for families, small or large events or to relax and enjoy the park. Dungen Park offers a large grassed area, shaded playground equipment and a mini amphitheater making it the perfect place for activities and events.
Hammond Park has grown rapidly recently with several further developments currently on the pipeline. In April 2022, the City of Cockburn opened the $10.5M Frankland Park Sporting and Community Facility which boasts an 100sqm activity room and 200sqm function room which are available for community hire. This facility is home to the Hammond Park Junior Football Club and the Braves Baseball Club.
